Our Inquiry unit this term is 'Reduce, Recycle & Reuse'. 

In groups of 6, they  must design, create and model a costume using only the recycled materials provided. 

While working as a team, the class is also learning about technology attributes and the importance of staying within a budget.

Pancakes for lunch today.

Today the Year 8's were away on their final Year 8 Day .
The Year 7's get to cook or bake on these days and so pancakes were on the menu for lunch today.Pancakes with maple syrup, bacon, bananas and whipped cream. Yum!!

Finished spaghetti bridges

Spaghetti Bridge Competition

Kate, Tayla, Olivia and Sara. Here we are making our bridge. We are currently trying to put together two different styles of bridge so we have the strongest bridge. We are trying to incorporate lots of triangles into our design. 

Ruby, Paige, Lucila and Kate. We are trying to make a stable camel back bridge so that weights can hang of it. We are making it out of spaghetti and gluing it with a hot glue gun.

Jackson, Henry and George. We made our bridge out of triangles and joined them together with long thick beams. We made the bit that the weight hangs of extra strong.

Ben, Scott and Tom. We are trying to make a bowstring bridge and put in lots of cross beams so that it is strong.

 Sarah, Katy and Kate. In our design we were trying to incorporate triangles for a stronger and sturdy bridge.

Locky, Max, Hunter and George. We are trying to make a Howe bridge for our design but with a longer arch so it can hold more weights. 

Softball games are very competitive in Room 5 and the skills are getting better with each game. Home runs are very special and this is the latest. Ben winning the game for his team.
